Description : Little Krishna – Indra Dev Ka Toofan

Little Krishna, India’s first high‑quality 3D animated television series, aired in May 2009 on Nickelodeon (later on Discovery Kids and Sun TV), and created by Reliance BIG Animation in collaboration with ISKCON’s India Heritage Foundation. Developed over seven years at a ₹50 crore budget, it tells the enchanting adventures of five‑to‑nine‑year‑old Krishna in Vrindavan.

In the special Indra Dev Ka Toofan episode, villagers of Vrindavan choose to worship the sacred Govardhan Mountain over mighty Indra, king of the gods. Enraged, Indra unleashes a ferocious storm. But young Krishna rises to the challenge—lifting the entire Govardhan Mountain on his little finger to shield villagers from deadly floods. This stunning sequence marks a pivotal moment of divine prowess. Eventually, Indra realizes his mistake and humbly accepts Krishna’s divine power.

This episode, marked by stunning animation, intense action, and cultural storytelling, quickly became a fan favorite—celebrated for its emotional resonance, mythological gravity, and technical craftsmanship. The series’ script was penned by Jeffrey Scott (Ice Age, Ninja Turtles), with direction by Vincent Edwards and Balasubramanian Rajasekaran, and art direction research-intensive design by Parikshit Dasa of Lion King fame.

Audiences, especially millennials, recall this episode nostalgically:

“Little Krishna was one of the peak moments of Indian animation”
“The best mythological show I’ve ever watched… made such a huge impact”

Given its mythic scope, emotional stakes, and technical brilliance, Indra Dev Ka Toofan remains one of the most iconic chapters in Indian children’s entertainment.
